Zusammenfassung
Dem Chirurgen ist die Lungenfunktionsprüfung eine unentbehrliche Hilfe bei der Indikationsstellung
für einen thoraxchirurgischen Eingriff. Gefährdete Patienten können ausgesondert und
entsprechend behandelt werden. Aus funktionellen Gründen inoperable Patienten können
durch geeignete Therapie doch noch einer thoraxchirurgischen Behandlung zugeführt
werden. Eine therapeutische Erhöhung der funktionellen Reserven bedeutet eine Ausweitung
der Indikation, eine Minderung des Operationsrisikos und eine weitgehende Einschränkung
der postoperativen Komplikationen.
Summary
Pulmonary function tests are an indispensable aid in selecting patients for thoracic
surgery. High risk patients can be eliminated and treated appropriately. Cases which
are inoperable for functional reasons can be improved by suitable therapy until operability
is achieved. An increase of functional reserve widens the possibilities of surgical
intervention and decreases the risk of operation as well as postoperative complications.
Résumé
Les tests fonctionnels pulmonaires sont d'une aide indispensable au chirurgien pour
poser des indications en chirurgie thoracique.
Des patients graves peuvent de cette façon être préparés á de grosses interventions.
Même des patients qui, pour des raisons fonctionnelles, sont inopérables, peuvent,
grâce à un traitement approprié, subir malgré tout ces interventions thoraciques.
Un accroissement thérapeutique des réserves fonctionnelles signifie done un élargissement
des indications opératoires, de même qu'une réduction des risques opératoires et une
très large diminution des complications post-opératoires.
